Migration and Deployment of a self hosted CRM System
After seven years on a SAAS model CRM system the customer had enough. The fees continued to increase and the there was simply no end in sight. Along with the help of SSI, the client decided to pursue migration to an open source, self hosted CRM solution. The criteria for selection included the following:
- Ability to host the solution
- Ability to migrate ALL historical data from legacy system.
- Open Source
- Ability to modify source code as required for specific business needs
The client settled in on SuiteCRM, built on top of SugarCRM. This platform met all of the clients requirements. In the course of two weeks, SSI migrated all of the historical files including but not limited to:
- Employee Time Entry
- Customer Order History
By having full control of their CRM system the client no longer has to rely on an external vendor or be tied to the subscription model. Our client has continued to modify the CRM system to meet their specific business needs. Custom workflows, automatic email templates, and user notifications continue to be enhanced.
